Hi everyone,
So it’s September and the business is kicking in. I’ve arrived back in the Uk from a great break and I’m in the process of preparing for my ‘Autumn Tour.’
I wanted to use this blog post to reflect on my week away. I’ve been taking some rest in France over the last few days. It’s been a really relaxing time, but challenging as well. I wrote a blog earlier in the year about plate spinning. I’d like to write this blog about switching off.
A lot of my heroes seem to disappear up mountains when they need time to rest. When you are up a mountain the signal from your phone goes, there’s no wifi and the endless emails can’t reach you. Apart from carrier Pigeons you are pretty much safe from contact.
Although I had an amazing time away I still kept a cheeky glance at my tablet, checked emails and even tried to ring a few numbers, much to my wife’s annoyance. I think I’ve learnt that when I have my ‘mountain experience’ I need to make sure that I’m un-contactable. This means that I will return to my journey with a clear head and a rejuvenated passion.
Do you ever find it hard to switch off when you go away? How do you prepare to go up the mountain? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below, or on my social media.
Oho I also forgot to mention that there’s some cool new ‘Pebbles’ T-shirts available click here for the link.
Blessings,
Matt JR Hurley
